Amsterdam native DJ, producer and certified dude Young Marco has been on the forefront of the city’s bustling underground scene for nearly a decade. After releasing several records on Rush Hour he soon found a home on Lovefingers’ ESP Institute where he continues to craft his signature zonked out house sound filled with broken drum computers and 90’s new-age synthesizers. His releases are already becoming sought after collectables, which are getting support from heads like Dixon and James Murphy. 2014 is a big year as it finally saw the release of his long awaited debut album “Biology” on the ESP Institute.
Mike Simonetti started out in the late1980′s as a “club kid” in NYC, working at the legendary club Mar- bouncing between hardcore punk shows and the NYC club scene. During this time Simonetti started Troubleman Unlimited, a highly influential record label. It is here that he met Johnny Jewel, and released the first records by Glass Candy. Mike and Johnny's relationship grew as their popularity grew, and soon Mike realized dance music was taking more of a focus in his life. Italians Do It Better was born almost ten years ago. After Dark, the first release on Italians, was a benchmark in electronic music at the time, as it bridged the gap between house, disco, Italo, Krautrock, and even indie rock. Together Mike and Johnny released a compilation entitled Albuterol, and the highly influential (and now very rare) Hollywood Seven. At the end of the day, Mike is a DJ just as much as he is now a producer. Contrary to the record labels namesake, he is more a house/techno DJ than anything. These days he plays all over the world, and holds regular parties in NYC at the best clubs.
